Object record
National Museum of African Art record supplies dimensions, maker, date, medium, geography, accession number, credit line, restrictions/rights CC0, and metadata usage CC0. The archived source asset merges the three Smithsonian Web3D high GLB components for 74-20-1 into one 450,000-face GLB. The public preview isolates the carved tusk component from the Smithsonian Web3D package so support geometry does not dominate the gallery card.

Carved by a Kongo artist in 1861, this relief follows the taper and curve of the ivory tusk. Its design changes as the curved surface is viewed from different angles.
How to use the model
Use the 3D view to inspect the overall form, then zoom in to compare surface, joins, and tool marks. Lighting controls can make shallow carving and material changes easier to see.
